1-Joy on the Plate:
I dined alone and paid close attention to the preparation of the dishes. Everything was done with great care and delicacy. This attention to detail is reflected in the taste of the food—truly delicate. There are two types of menus, differing in the number of appetizers. I opted for one with an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. The asparagus was divine, as was the entrecote. The chocolate surprise was a palate-pleasing balm. Delicious, with swift and impeccable service.
An incredible experience! The tasting menu is highly recommended; we opted for the intermediate option, which included 6 courses for $138 per person. It was my wife and me, and we were enchanted, already looking forward to returning. The only downside is the relatively high cost; we spent over $500 for two people. Nevertheless, I highly recommend it, and I’ll definitely be back!
3-One of the Best French Restaurants Outside of France:
Be prepared to spend. My husband and I opted for the simplest menu, a bottle of wine, and the bill came out to $200 per person. But… it was worth it. Excellent service, excellent food!
For starters, they offer an amuse-bouche of foie gras, bread, and a delicious butter. I chose the crab salad, mini-hamburgers with foie gras, and for the main course, lobster spaghetti in butter. Simply amazing!
We arrived in Vegas already aware of Joel Robuchon’s reputation. We went to the hotel concierge to make a reservation, and they suggested L’Atelier. It’s much more affordable, and the food is just as good as the upscale version. The atmosphere is more casual (we sat at the counter – it’s fascinating to watch the team work with surgical precision!). I tried the chef’s suggestion, which is a complete experience. I think there were about 7 courses (tiny portions, of course…), and except for the dessert, everything was a perfect 10. The dessert wasn’t bad, but it had pineapple, and I really don’t like pineapple. My problem!
Being quite demanding, I knew I was insisting on dining here. The service was fantastic! I truly enjoyed watching the meals being prepared and the attention to detail that went into everything. The food was very good; although I wasn’t a huge fan of the salmon I had, overall, I appreciate the skill that went into everything and highly recommend it.
6-Great Food, Great Experience:
Four of us had dinner, and the staff’s knowledge was excellent. They were very accommodating for one of us who had food allergies, working around them seamlessly. I opted for the 5-course serving (2 appetizers, 2 entrées, and a dessert). I might have preferred the option with a main course as there was plenty of food. Each dish was unique, meticulously presented, and full of flavor. I particularly enjoyed the haddock dish and the eggplant appetizer. We couldn’t secure a spot at the counter (where we could observe the cooking process), but other than that, I really can’t complain about anything. The chocolate dessert was world-class. I’ll go there again someday, and if you’re not price-sensitive, I highly recommend you do too.
7-Excellent Food, Watch Out for the Fine Print:
The food and experience were truly amazing! From the initial taste of the frothy foie gras to the ultimate decadent bite of chocolate, this culinary experience was truly a dream. All of us chose from one of the fixed-price menu options; nevertheless, our server failed to explicitly explain the additional charges associated with several of the items we selected as appetizers and entrees. To be equitable, there is minute red print beneath each item, and some specify additional charges, yet discerning this information proved to be exceedingly challenging in the subdued lighting (even with the aid of our reading glasses). As a result, our bill accumulated to $800 for a party of three. If the server had taken the time to elucidate this aspect to us, we probably would have made slight modifications to our orders, and such proactive communication would have been more valued than the service rendered.
8-Expensive but Good:
This is a place for special occasions as it is very expensive. Expect to pay $150+ per person. Although they had a tasting menu, I suggest you choose what you really want to eat. The tasting menu doesn’t have everything, and if you have allergies like me, you may need to pick things out yourself. I really enjoyed the place. The food was excellent. I also ate at Joel Robuchon next door at a different time. That place costs even more, and I think L’Atelier is just as good.
9-Excellent Food for a Wedding Anniversary:
I went with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The concierge at Bellagio made the reservation and informed the restaurant about the anniversary. At the end of the meal, we received a complimentary dessert with “happy anniversary” written on it, adding a magical touch to a great meal. The waiter was very friendly, and sitting at the counter allowed us to see the chefs at work. The potatoes were the best I’ve ever had; I didn’t think it was possible to make such a simple dish so fantastic.
10-Prix Fixe Dinners – Amazing Pre-Show Price:
I have dined at L’Atelier at least 5 times, both as a couple and with friends. We always go for the same prix fixe dinner, and it is consistently surprising and delicious. The wine prices are not bad for Vegas; I usually go with Washington and Oregon Pinot Noir. It’s also about 90% cheaper than its more famous neighbor, Joel Robichon—clearly a different dining experience. The decor is cool, black, and red, and the staff and service are excellent.
In conclusion, the restaurant L’Atelier Joel Robuchon offers an exceptional gastronomic experience, standing out for refined French cuisine that blends classical techniques with contemporary approaches. With iconic dishes, high-quality ingredients, and creative presentation, each meal is a true celebration of flavors and culinary art. Moreover, the elegant ambiance and extensive wine list provide a perfect setting to enjoy a memorable experience. Whether for a special occasion, a refined dinner, or to explore the flavors of French cuisine, L’Atelier Joel Robuchon is a must-visit destination for gastrophiles.
